Value chain for existing plants

One of the focal points of our activities is the project business which deals with the modification of the characteristics of existing plants on the basis of comprehensive engineering competence.

A need for change results from the life cycle of a plant, for example due to the change of the general political conditions (amendments of laws, subsidies, introduction of emission trade); restricted availability of the design fuels; changes in costs/proceeds (cost of fuel, spare parts and external services, cost of emission certificates, disposal costs, wage costs for operating staff, proceeds from power generation); rise in the power or steam demand; changes in the state of technology and the resulting improvement potential. Plant service projects require extensive personnel resources and a large creativity and knowledge potential. Therefore our project groups always consist of experienced project managers, highly qualified engineers and trained technical staff who ensure, due to their smooth cooperation, that the ideal solution is developed and realised for every customer.

What we basically regard as our main task is to increase the economic efficiency of existing plants. The concrete setting of tasks always results from the specific targets of our customers who, depending on their location, may be confronted with the above mentioned influencing factors in different ways. No matter whether an increase in efficiency or availability, an increase in performance or a reduction of emissions, a service life extension or cost saving is concerned: Our engineers will determine suitable measures for the optimisation of your plant. Our fast and proper performance of all services ensures efficient and safe operation after a minimum of downtime.

At each stage of the project and in connection with our accompanying progress control and quality assurance  our project managers and engineers are in direct contact with the key bearers of know-how of Babcock Borsig Service all over the world.
